I've done some self diagnosing since yesterday. I've decided that I have ADHD. Combined with nearsightedness it's an awful combination. Hang with me here.
If you ask any of my local friends they would say that my house is always clean. It's pretty much always picked up except for those pesky awkward dishes that don't fit into the dishwasher. I set out yesterday to actually accomplish something. I'm not talking about anything earth shattering like deep, deep cleaning. I'm referring to dusting and vacuuming along with some clean toilets. Okay, ewww.
Well, I've come to the conclusion that I have Attention Deficit Housework Disorder. Let me tell you it took me FOREVER. I kept getting distracted. Geesh. I think I got my living room and powder room clean. Good grief. Then today I worked on the Master Bedroom.
I also can tell that there is an advantage to being nearsighted. Who knew there was so much dust on those white baseboards? Certainly not me. And who's big idea was it anyway to decide that white woodwork was back in style? I just try to ignore it, thank you very much.
Here's a little snapshot of a clean spot on my dresser. I told HH not to get used to it. Hope you've been more productive than me. Have a great weekend!

Instagramming It
Last week in Instagram while visiting family in Kansas City.
Took a walk with Mom.
Drove through GORGEOUS Mission Hills.
Shopped on The Country Club Plaza.
While my husband visited the cathedral in Cologne, Germany.
And visited a bridge covered in locks.
After a very long layover in Denver, headed home.
More on what I found when I got home later.

Redwork
After years and I mean years of working on and off on this rework piece, I finally pulled it out and finished it. The pattern came from a Country Living magazine back when they would publish patterns and building instructions.
Here is my Instagram close-up.
I now need to make it into something to use. Probably will be a pillow. These pillows are inspiring me. Okay, NEVER MIND! I thought I saved photos of some beautiful grain sack pillows. Even with the ease of Pinterest, I can't locate them. Maybe I didn't hit "Repin". Now, it's going to bother and frustrate me. It's funny how I seem to remember things that I can't locate and forget things that are right in front of me. Oh well, here's another pretty Red Work piece.
Look at how sweet this little girl is. I love the inclusion of the fabric.

Couch Creativity
I have been watching the Olympics pretty much every evening. Have you? I love it all. While sitting I've been working on little projects. I showed you my pretty stack of Liberty of London fabrics a few days ago. I wanted to use some of them similarly to Purl Soho's display that has been all over the internet and Pinterest. I made these using some old embroidery hoops.
I put them above my sewing table. Sorry, it's a very dark room.
This arrangement might need to be perfected.
I also doodled a little motivational message to myself.
After seeing some redwork that Charlotte Lyons posted on Instagram, I pulled out an old project to finally finish.
I'm feeling productive!

Instagram Vacation
This is Tommy. He was just hanging out with us on the front porch.
There was some snoozing going on the front porch.
I'll be good and not show any evidence. Just my cute HH smiling at me.
I love how Instagram makes even the everyday look special.
We love to watch the thunderclouds form in the midwest. This was a baby one.
Instagram even makes a bad picture look cool. I love technology. Check out my exciting pictures on Instagram, I'm ksueb. See you there! Okay, no more vacation pictures, I promise.

Small Town Sights
On our way to visit my in-laws in a very tiny town in Missouri, I got a kick out of the "mile" markers along I-29. I've never noticed before a highway with "mile" markers every .2 of a mile. If you would've been behind us, you might've thought my HH was a little inebriated. He kept moving over to the side so I could catch one up close with my phone. It took a few tries.
We stopped for lunch at a McDonald's because that's about your only choice. This fun duck was flapping his wings at the passersby.
They had lots of yummy choices.
Chocolate chip and strawberry shakes. Yes, please.

Instagram Disneyland
I bet you're probably tired of seeing my trips to Disneyland. I decided to change it up a little and use Instagram for some photo editing. You see, this is our last trip to Disneyland for the foreseeable future with DD2. She is taking a full time job out of state and we will leave next week to drive her there with as much stuff as we can fit into her little car. And that's not going to be much.
We had ice cream. Mine was strawberry in a chocolate dipped waffle cone.
We rode our favorite rides. No, not the teacups.
They do bring back memories when my girls were little.
We watched the parade.
It was a beautiful Southern California day for making memories. I'll let you know in a couple of weeks when I'm a mess. BTW, she's taking the dog.
