Liberty and It's Price

Donna and I began Day Two (Wednesday) by having an early breakfast with Bruce and Amy. Bruce, Donna and I all went to college together. They now live and work in New York City. It was wonderful to have them meet us and catch up.
I fiddled with this picture a little. If I can find another one I've been looking for, I'll put it in later.  This is the view on the way to the Statue of Liberty, looking back at the city.
I loved her. I can see why she gives so much hope to those who came to America for freedom.
 I altered this picture also.
Then it was off to the 9/11 Memorial. Be prepared when visiting for a lot of emotions.
It's a wonderful, fitting tribute to the lost.
This is only ONE of the two pools the make up the memorial.
You just can't get over all the names.
Look at how big it is!
One World Trade Center is nearing completion.
Lunch was at Stage Door Deli.  They were overrun by hot, hungry, middle aged women.
The food was delicious!
Wednesday evening we went to the Empire State Building for Sunset.  My camera AND phone has died by this time. The heat really does a number on your batteries. These photos are courtesy of my companions.

Amazing.
If you haven't seen my other posts so far, check them out here.
