After my very busy day on Friday I was excited Saturday to head back to the Urban Barn to pick up my new purchases with my husband's bigger car. It is about a 30 to 45 minutes drive. When I arrived I noticed that the gray cabinet I had paid for was not in it's original location. I just figured they had moved it, getting it ready for pick up. Well, evidently not. Can you believe, that some "lovely" shopper had taken the sold sign off of it and bought it on Friday? The store personnel was different than Thursday when I had paid for it. Needless to say, they were very upset. They have vowed to call the "lady" and get it back. I think that's a long shot. If someone will stoop that low, they're not going to be gracious and give back the cabinet. The shop gave me a refund, of course. The cabinet was to go in my powder room and was perfect. Unfortunately, I never took a photo of it. Maybe that's a good thing..
I did however end up with my chalkboard. Unfortunately, I was a little less excited about my purchase than I was an hour before. Today I had time to play with it and really like it.
It's perfect in my entry way.
Lesson learned, if at all possible, take what you pay for with you immediately.
Has anything like this ever happened to you?
Wow! Shame on her. I want to believe that the sold tag fell off before she bought it. It's hard to believe people will do that, but they will. I go to a barn sale once a month where the ladies run in and rip all the tags off before you can get to anything, it's very dissappointing. Love the chalkboard and the verse!
ReplyDeletesorry about the cabinet, i know you were disappointed (who wouldn'y be?). i am lovin the chalkboard!!
ReplyDeleteOh no! That's awful. What a nasty thing for someone to do. I'm sure with your eye, you will find another something fabulous for your powder room. I do love the chalkboard and the verse you wrote on it, it just says it all.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you

How disappointing! I have to say though, that is one gorgeous chalkboard. I've never seen one like it!
