I've spent literally all day putting lights on my Christmas tree. I've seen a "new" way to put lights on your tree by wrapping them back and forth on the branches. It will technically light up in the interior of the tree and not leave wires along the outside edges. I decided to give it a try. Well, let's just say it takes A BUNCH more lights this way! I had lights already, then asked my daughter to pick up 3 more on her way home from work. I picked up another 3 boxes on my way to pick up pizza. (On a side note, I'm not buying pizza again. Mine is SO MUCH better). After dinner I had to run out and get two more boxes. I feel like I'm in Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation and this is just our tree! I do like the "wireless" look however.
Enjoy these pretty photos from Country Living British. I love their natural Country Christmas look.
My husband does the lights and he will never change the way he does it...just looped about the width of the tree. I like to dangle my ornaments deep inside and that would be hard to do if there were lights on each branch, I'd love to see what it looks like and how you like it. :-)

Hi Karen
ReplyDeleteLoving these image! Very inspiring and perfect timing :)
I have been doing the in and out weaving for years. I think I picked up the idea from one of 'Martha's' shows. You are right, it take LOTS of lights. Feels like you can never have enough and when one little light goes...they all go. The good thing is that there are so many lights in there that you don't notice as much. Getting them off the tree is another matter but we have weeks before we have to worry about that!
Best wishes for a Happy Holiday Season...may the Christmas spirit keep you merry and bright :)

I swear we had a ton of lights to begin with. Unless Daisy ate them all before I moved out. Sometimes I wish our tree wasn't pre-lit, and then you post this and I'm glad it is! ha
