Jewelry Class with Nina Bagley

Last Friday I took an all day jewelry class at French General with Nina Bagley. Nina makes beautiful OOAK (one of a kind) jewelry from her cabin in North Carolina.  She doesn't do many workshops, so it was a real treat to be able to attend.  She was at French General for three days. There was a waiting list so they added the third day, which happened to be her birthday. We had so much fun!

Visiting French General is a treat to the senses anyway. There are so many beautiful things to look at!
She taught us some of her special techniques.
Ladies, of course, wear some of their most interesting jewelry.  This cuff was crocheted with wire.

Sorry for some blurry photos.  I was more interested in making the jewelry than taking pictures.

These are upcoming classes at French General.  I LOVE this embroidery one!

Maybe you'd want to make a tiara!
This is a FG bracelet kit.  You can find these on their website as well.
We learned to make these adorable nests.
 I  love Nina's special touches.
Here are the beginnings of my wrap bracelet.  I found the tatting at a thrift store the day before the class.  The buttons were from my Grandmother's button box. A friend gave me that beautiful little oval medallion to work with. It became my focal point.
Here is the front and back of my bracelet.  It's difficult to get it all in one photo. The little circle is bone and the button is vintage. I used a zipper pull from a thrifted zipper for my closure. I'm definitely going to have to keep playing with this new hobby. I loved it. If you make jewelry, please share any tips and hints with me, I'd really appreciate it!!!
Wait till you see what I did today at Anthropologie!  Very fun!

  2. I love your bracelet. It is gorgeous. Thank you for the link to the store. I really love all of the workshops they offer. I am so sad the Amy Butler one is sold out. But I understand why. I cannot wait to keep track of the workshops. What fun!

    Have a lovely weekend!
