Kids and Disney

My DD1 and her husband are visiting us from KS for her 25th birthday.  We headed to Disneyland for a fun day of celebrating.  You can go on your birthday free this year.  You should've seen all the birthday people!  It was pretty hot and we wore out quickly, not staying until the Electric Light Parade or Fireworks.

This little door is in Fantasyland across from the teacups.  My girls have sat together in front of this door at least 3 times in their lives, once when they were very little and the second time when they were in elementary school, I think.  So, it was a requirement this time.  They had a much more difficult time fitting there this year.
The teacups are just as much fun as ever.  I can't ride these anymore.  What is it about aging that makes spinning and twirling a headache inducing activity?
I just don't understand why people smile a lot at me when I wear my silver sparkly ears.  My girls are right there with me, though.  The boys were not so cooperative.  We did get them in Disney baseball caps.  We tried Goofy ears on my SIL and a Grumpy hat on DH, but they wouldn't go for it.  Why can't boys be silly?
We ended the day with a trip to Portillos by Knotts Berry Farm.  It's a tradition from our  years in the Chicago area.  If you haven't been to Portillos, it's a Chicago institution.  I had their well known and fabulous chopped salad.  Everything they make is great, but they started years ago from a hot dog stand in downtown Chicago.  YUMMO!

  1. Oh that looks like such a fun day! We've been to Disney Fla. and if I'd seen those glittery ears, I'd have bought them on the spot. You wear them well.

Thanks for your sweet encouraging comments on my blog. You really get it...where I am right now, I mean.

    Thanks and Blessings to you
