Now I'm discovering many different media. I'm seriously frustrated that I can't be satisfied with just one media and actually get really great at it. I do love my knitting, though. I don't feel like I'm advanced at all. I have not and can't imagine designing my own patterns. So, maybe I'm just a serial crafter. It sort of makes me sad. I wish I could be satisfied with my creations. I certainly collect plenty of patterns, fabrics and supplies, but nothing special comes of it. I think I give up too quickly. Here are some of my most recent favorites. I've just discovered some beautiful art blogs, look at Dawn's, Rebecca's, or Teresa's. These beautiful creations below are Dawn's creations.
So beautiful!
So beautiful!
I think that's just the problem with us creative types. When I was a kid, I did latch hook and cross stitch and embroidery. Then I moved on to sewing clothes, then jewelry, then quilts, then knitting and crochet. Currently I really only do the knitting/crochet, and I love it. But I have hoardes of fabric and beads that I don't think I will ever use...but I do want to go back to cross stitch.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't help that each hobby has a fairly large start-up cost!
Hi Karen!! Thank you so much for featuring my artwork! I am exactly the same way about creating, I just can't stay with one "medium" for very long...I love learning new things and trying new things, who says we only have to "do" one thing, right? Thank you again and it's so nice to meet you! xxoo, Dawn
ReplyDeleteMaybe this is why we've found eachother on the blogosphere. I really relate to what you are saying. I understand the frustration and I think it's part of just being and artist and having an artful and creative heart. Born of that wanting to seek and satisfy, come wonderful results. Blessings to you, my dear. And thanks for introducing me to these wonderful artists.

to see what I am knitting, you need to get on Ravelry. I'm poetangel there, and it's so easy to keep track of projects that way!
ReplyDeleteCurrently, wool fair-isle mittens since it is SO COLD here!
