Kinda Lovin

I'm in a floralie pastelish kind of mood today.
I just stumbled across these classics for children from Anthropologie. I don't think I'm too old for such beautiful books.  I haven't even read them all.  It's never too late to start, I'm sure.
What an adorable and simple idea!  Check out Jane's instructions.
I'm definitely going to have to try this soon.

I'm going to have to try this for my next set of MOO cards!

These beautiful dresses can be custom made for your wedding. They're so pretty!

I found these here.

Red and White

Do you suppose these stripes add too much width?

I'm going to use this on an upcoming project.

Such a cute knitting pattern.

Julie is making some custom labels for me!

I love how this girl has blue accessories with her polka dot dress! Very cute.
I'm always very attracted to red. Red clothes, red rooms, red paper, etc. . .  The top photos are 1. Katrin Cargill; 2. bhg; 3. Katrin Cargill; 4. Katrin Cargill; 5. bhg.  I'm having a little trouble spacing my photos today for some reason.  What color is attracting your attention?

Good Morning

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.

New Additions

We named her Guinevere.
She found the perfect spot to sit.
I found her at Matilda's Mouse in July.  She's the only thing I bought that day.
I found this beautiful piece of handwork at the thrift store.
It was half-price day. She had to come home with me. It's in perfect condition.
What new additions have you found recently?

I am linking up to Show and Tell Friday, check out the other goodies!

In the Clouds

This was the scenery outside our window on Saturday. It makes for a cool morning.
I read a blog post by Deb, about her "new" speed e whipper"recently. I hopped right onto etsy and found one for myself.  If I ever really "need" whipped cream, it would only be a little.  This gadget is perfect.
 Perfect for chocolate waffles.
I know I show these a lot. Well, at least I'm using my cool waffle maker.

DH is fuzzy these days.  He usually is after his big hike.  This year, 68 miles in the Sierra's.  He deserved a few chocolate waffles.  I need to put some weight back onto him.  Of course, I had some too.

Hoover Baby

I have been knitting in the evenings.  Very slowly, I might add.
I chose this great pattern called the Hoover Baby Blanket.
It has a great story you can read about on Knitty.
It was written by First Lady Lou Henry Hoover, or at least historians have found a letter written in 1939 to Mrs. Hoover asking for the pattern.  I love the variations that knitters have tried.  I'm knitting it for a baby that has already arrived.  She may be done with blankies by the time I finish it. Here's precious Libby, I hope she won't mind.

But, I press on, little by little. I usually try something new in a pattern and this time it's double knitting.  I'm not sure I've quite conquered it, though.  And, as you can see, I have a way to go.

Good Morning

Good morning! We're hoping to have REAL internet up and running next week. Can I say YIPPEE! Hopefully I'll do a better job of blogging because of it!  I hope you have a spectacular weekend!  See you next week.

Free Spoonflower

Fleur de Cuillère
I had heard about Spoonflower, but had never really spent much time there.

They have contests where you can vote for your favorite design.

Charlotte entered the contest where the design had to do with coffee.  Below is her design.  Isn't it adorable?  Unfortunately she didn't win the contest, but I love it.  It doesn't hurt that it has one of my favorite color combinations, red and aqua.

You can buy yardage of your favorite designs out of several different types of fabrics.  I searched out kitchen designs and saved a few of my favorites to show you.  Tomorrow they are having a free swatch day. Check out the details at their blog.  Be prepared to spend some time. SO FUN!

Master Bedroom

I thought I'd give you an update on how our Master Bedroom is coming along. Above the bed are photos and maps of Harwichport, Massachusetts on Cape Cod.  A few years ago we would rent a cottage and vacation there during the summers.  That was before we moved back to the West Coast. It was a little tricky getting the pictures to work together. It's a work in progress. The Seahorse pillow is from Pottery Barn.
This photo was taken before the crown moulding was installed.
I also think a bench would be nice at the foot of the bed.  Haven't found one I like yet.
I found this old, peely buoy on Ebay.  I think the colors look great on the mantle.
Evidently, I haven't taken pictures of my painted bookshelves.  It's not terribly exciting, just another part of the room.  I have yet to balance out the pictures above the bed.  I'm still searching for the right thing.  My husband didn't think my oar was "just the thing".  Next thing are some linen drapes and someday a more comfortable chair. Thanks for stopping by!

Bag Lady

I decided to make some totes for 30 ladies that are going to Women of Faith in September.  We're going to give them their tickets and information in totes made just for them.  I'm using these Martha bags as inspiration.  You can find the directions here.  Since I'm making thirty, I'm keeping it simple.
Here are the samples I made for my daughter and me.
I loved these simple totes from Michaels. Their in the kid craft section on $2.00 a piece.

The most difficult part was flipping the letters.  Even though it was an obvious option on my software, it wouldn't enable me to flip them.  My smart DD2 figured it out for me.  We worked around it.
What do you think?  Wouldn't you enjoy receiving a simple little bag like these?
