Handmade Christmas

This year, I got out some old Christmas decorations that I made years ago. This is a little village made out of paper lunch bags. They are luminaries, although here they're not lit. A friend's sister designed these for a Christmas house walk back in the 1980's. In 1987 I lived in Sioux Falls, SD. One of the crafts I got interested in there was wood carving. My Papaw gave me this little Santa bank when I was little. I think they go together nicely.
I made these little paper Christmas trees for a church Christmas dinner's centerpieces. I made a lot of them. I still have the pattern. It was published in Christmas Ideas 1990. There are 3 sizes. I saw another blogger's post about Christmas decorations and recognized my little trees. Here's her post. I put them on my dresser. More Christmas decorations to come.

I have the pattern still, and might make some for my daughters.

  4. Now there are so many beautiful papers you could make these out of. "Back when" all I had was cream colored paper. Just think of the possibilities. . .
